Itsmyluckyday, winner of the Fasig-Tipton Dash and Foolish Pleasure Stakes at Calder Casino & Race Course last year, and most recently the track-record setting hero of the Grade 3 Holy Bull, is listed as the co-fourth choice at morning-line odds of 15-1 for Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 1, which opens at Calder on Friday, Feb. 8, at noon and will close Sunday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m.
Though still nearly three months away from Derby Day, the Kentucky Derby Future Wager allows bettors to lock down a generous price on those 3-year-olds they deem likely to make a successful Run for the Roses on May 3. In 2012, long shot Derby winner I’ll Have Another returned $32.60 for a $2 bet on Derby Day whereas those Nostradamus-like prognosticators that played the colt in Pool 1 received a hefty $60.20 at the time of his triumph.
The Kentucky Derby Future Wager, which features 24 betting numbers, including 23 individual horses and one slot that is reserved for “all other 3-year-olds,” is a $2 minimum bet, with both win and exacta wagering available.
Live odds for Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 1 will be displayed on various televisions throughout the Calder grandstand and will be available online at kentuckyderby.com.
