With a rich history that includes memorable performances from eventual Grade 1 winners and Eclipse Award champions such as Awesome Feather, Big Drama, and Jackson Bend, the annual Juvenile Showcase, a day of racing devoted to 2-year-olds that includes six stakes worth an estimated $550,000 in purse money, will return to Calder Casino & Race Course on Saturday, August 25.

Conceptualized and carried out for the first time in 2003, and now in its 10th year of existence, the Juvenile Showcase remains a unique day in thoroughbred racing as every live race run at Calder that afternoon is restricted to 2-year-olds, including the middle rounds of the Florida Stallion Stakes, the $125,000-estimated Affirmed and Susan’s Girl divisions. Four additional stakes, each with a purse of $75,000 and run over both turf and dirt, will further accentuate the lucrative day.

In addition to an exciting afternoon of live racing that will feature the future stars of the sport, TSC Elite members in attendance on Juvenile Showcase day will have an opportunity to win mutuel vouchers totaling $250 in conjunction with FastBet Mobile. Entries must be deposited by 3 p.m. at the TSC Elite Players Club on the second floor of the grandstand, with drawings to take place following the seventh race.

Guests will find several dining options available throughout the property on Juvenile Showcase day with the Turf Club presenting a buffet priced at $29 per person, the Clubhouse Dining Room on the fourth floor offering a buffet for $20 per person, or a trackside barbecue featuring a variety of grilled favorites.

For those guests with an eye towards the national racing scene, full-card simulcasting of the prestigious Travers Stakes day program from Saratoga, which coincides with this year’s Juvenile Showcase, will be available, along with full-card simulcasting from other racing venues across North America.

Post time for the first live race at Calder on Juvenile Showcase day is 12:55 p.m. General parking and admission is free. Reservations for the Turf Club and the Clubhouse Dining Room are encouraged. Reserved box seating packages are also available. For more information, or to make reservations, call (305) 625-7227.
